First edition, First printing Hardback octavo in blue cloth lettered in red. 317 pages illustrated with jacket art, frontis and four plates on glossy paper by John Coleman Burroughs . A lovely copy with a bright jacket. The book has the remains of an erasure on front endpaper. The book is also marred by a circled "22" in flair pen on spine. The red lettering on the jacket spine is notably faded with some shallow chipping at head and tail, but still very readable. There are also a couple edge tears of no significance with a bit of associated creasing and edge and extremity wear. Finally, the major flaw is a tear on the front panel with clear tape repair on verso with the tape leaving some discoloration on front. Curry, p. 96; Zeuschner, #578.
