Good only (edges somewhat rubbed and shelf soiled; two tiny holes in cloth along rear spine edge; small ding top rear board; blue decoration scratched; paper edges dusted, spotted; moderate foxing of end papers; contents uniformly tanned, several small finger smudges o/w paper clean; small nick top edge of final blank; very faint cigar odor lingers; very slight slant to boards) with Fair-Poor dust jacket (tears, large chips, soil; spine very darkened and smudged; original price 15S present) Hinges still sound. No names/inscriptions. Scarce London first of the first novel in Durrell's Alexandria Quartet. Our volume not as sparkling as one might wish, but perhaps better than it sounds.
