The House of Cain.
Author: Upfield, Arthur; introduction by Philip Jose Farmer. Publisher: San Francisco: Dennis McMillan, 1983.
Second U.S. Edition ISBN: 0960998608 Limited edition of 1000 copies, SIGNED BY THE PUBLISHER ON THE COPYRIGHT PAGE. 12mo, about 7.25 inches tall, in gilt stamped red cloth. 286 pages. The author's first novel, first published in London in 1928 and in Philadelphia in 1929 but nearly unobtainable, this was McMillan's first publishing venture. It predates the first of his "Bony" mysteries by a few years, but exposes his deep knowledge and love of the Australian outback. A clean, bright, sound and unworn copy. The jacket, with art by George Barr, appears bright and crisp but some dampstaining is visible on the verso, and some rippling is detectable on the back panel. Hardcover Hardcover Fine in Very Good - Dustjacket
Price: US$250.00. Quantity available: 1.
