The Miguel Corte-Real Memorial Society, Inc. purchased fifty acres of the historical land adjacent to the Dighton Rock. The Society professes that Miguel Corte-Real a Portuguese Captain landed on these shores in the late 1400's or early 1500's. They claim the hieroglyphics carved on the rock were Portuguese. The Rock is covered by the tide except for a period of approximately two hours every day. two peeled spots on the front cover where price stickers had been stuck to the front cover. prev owner's peeled and removed part of the covering, covers some tanning.
