Corners of cover slightly curled outward. Ends of spine slightly worn. Former owner's name and a date in pencil on title page. Very thin discolored strip along edges of first few pages. Binding is sound. Text is clean and bright. Signed in ink by author on page facing title page. The author and her husband spent 34 years as missionaries among the Bantu people around Lake Victoria in Kenya. This self-published book records a varied selection of the orally transmitted tales the author collected during that time. Illustrated with small b/w line drawings by the couple's daughter, Martha Hoyt McCallum, and b/w photographs by the author's husband, Fred N. Hoyt.
