Light brown cloth hardcover with gold and black titles, stamped design of Japanese Bantam chickens in black with red and gold highlights. 95 pages plus one page ads. Beautiful full-page engravings by Harrison Weir, Ereswell. Covers general husbandry, diseases, exhibiting, descriptions of various breeds of chickens plus pheasants, ducks, geese. This book is becoming quite scarce with only two libraries listing copies in World Cat. (catalog of world library holdings). Moderate wear to over edges, a couple of small corner bumps, missing 1/8 inch at top of spine (possibly headband). Paper in gutter of one gathering is cracked but sewing is tight and there is no wallow to the signatures.
