Leonard Woolf is remembered primarily as the husband of Virginia Woolf, however he was also a prolific author especially on matters concerning the co-operative movement as well as bring one of the principal architects of Labour Party foreign policy between the wars and an influential Fabian Society member. He was an editor for the 'International Review' ; literary editor of the 'Nation and Athenaeum', and the 'New Statesman' in the 1920's ; with William A Robson he founded the 'Political Quarterly' in 1930 ; he was also a director of the 'New Statesman' from 1941 to 1954. The Hogarth Press which Woolf founded and managed with Virginia (1917-38), John Lehmann (1938-46) and in association with Chatto & Windus (1946-69) is well known as a publisher to modern movement authors. Fine cond, bound in blue cloth with silver gilt lettering to spine and front cover : no dustjacket (as issued). 9 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches
