Sample Autograph Signature: Ann Bannon

The pseudonym for Ann Weldy, who wrote lesbian pulp novels in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Weldy married soon after graduating from college, but after writing 7 lesbian pulp novels, she focussed on childrearing while returning to academics. She gradutated from California State University at Sacramento in 1968 with a masterís degree, and then completed a Ph.D. in language and linguistics at Stanford University. In 1974, she joined the faculty at California State University at Sacramento from which she has now retired as the Associate Dean of the College Of Arts and Letters. She kept her identity a secret until 1980 when most of her books were republished. She continued to write, but only works related to her scholarly field. She has, however, granted many interviews related to her novels and pulp fiction in general. In 2005, she received the Distinguished Service Award for Faculty Excellence by the Alumni Association of the university.
