Jimmy Santiago Baca
American poet, novelist and screenplay writer. Born in New Mexico of Chicano and Apache descent, Baca learned to read and write while serving 5 years in a maximum security prison on drug charges. He went on to an award-winning career as a writer which also included shortstories and non-fiction. He wrote the screenplays Bound by Honor and The Lone Wolf —The Story of Pancho Gonzalez.
