Art Coelho
American poet, short-story writer, novelist, and painter. Art Coelho (occasionally spelled "Cuelho") was born in Fresno, California in the central San Joaquin Valley in 1943 where he grew up in the 1950s on two family farms: one in the Riverdale area; the other in the Five Points area (once called Wheatville). He is the grandson of Azorean-Portuguese immigrants from the Azores Islands. He moved to Montana in the mid-1970s and founded Seven Buffaloes Press that has published many books of poetry and anthologies of short stories including many written by Valley writers. His own work, which he publishes at Seven Buffaloes, also focuses mostly on California's Central Valley.
