Janice Wald Henderson
American food and travel journalist, cookbook author, and teacher. Henderson is one of the country's most prolific food and travel journalists. She has traveled nationwide to report on food events, but has been particularly active in reporting on cooking in Hawaii for more than a decade. She coordinates and emcees Hawaii's premier food event, the annual "Cuisines of the Sun," hailed by food editors and critics as one of the top culinary events in the world. She has contributed articles to numerous national and local magazines, and is often quoted as a restaurant critic. As a teacher, she conducts writing workshops for UCLA's Extension Division. She published her first cookbook, White Chocolate, in 1987 which was followed by The New Cuisine of Hawaii: Recipes from the Twelve Celebrated Chefs of Hawaii Regional Cuisine in 1994.
