Michael Hague
American illustrator of children's books. Hague was born in Los Angeles, California and received a BFA degree at its Art Center College of Design. After working for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City for two years, he moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to design calendars and greeting cards for the Current Company. His first book, Gulliver in Lilliput was was a pop-up book published by Hallmark Cards in 1975. Since then, he
has illustrated a number of classic children's tales such as The Wind in the Willows, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, The Velveteen Rabbit, Mother Goose, The Secret Garden, and the stories of Hans Christian Andersen. He is renowned for the intricate and realistic detail he brings to his work, and the rich colors he chooses. He has also collaborated with his wife, Kathleen Burdick Hague, on several best selling children's books.
