Raymond E. Feist
American author of epic fantasy fiction and co-creator of the Midkemia role-playing game. Raymond Elias Feist (born in 1945 in Los Angeles with the surname Gonzales, before being adopted by Felix E. Feist), is the author of numerous series about his fictional worlds of Midkemia and Kelewan. Midkemia was originally created by Feist and his friends at the University of California as an alternative to the role-playing game, Dungeons and Dragons. His debut novel, Magician, was published in 1982, and he has since become one of the pre-eminent writers of epic fantasy. Feist's Midkemia universe has also become the setting for computer games. Betrayal at Krondor is based on Feist's Betrayal at Krondor, a novel in his Riftwar Series; and its sequel, Return to Krondor, is based on Krondor: Tear of the Gods a novel in the same series.
His work appears regularly on best-seller lists internationally, and he has sold over 15 million copies of his books worldwide. He is married to the novelist Kathlyn Starbuck.
