Michael K. Deaver
Political media strategist, public relations executive, and former aide to President Reagan. Michael Keith Deaver spent more than 20 years as one of Ronald Reagan's closest advisors in both Sacramento and Washington. In his White House years, he was considered a memeber of "The Troika", serving as Assistant to the president and Deputy Chief of Staff from January 1981 until May 1985 when he resigned under investigation and became an influential lobbyist. He was indicted on five counts of perjury in 1987 and later convicted of three perjury counts. Currently, he serves as Vice Chairman International of Edelman, the world's largest independent public relations firm, and Executive Vice President and Director of Corporate Affairs for their Washington, D.C. office. Deaver produced the documentary The Secret Service: The Inside Story, and has made frequent television appearances on news and commentary programs.
He is also the author of A Different Drummer: My Thirty Years with Ronald Reagan, Why I Am a Reagan Conservative, and Nancy: A Portrait of My Years with Nancy Reagan.
