William M. Bulger
Attorney, past President of the University of Massachusetts and former Massachusetts lawmaker. Bulger was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1961 and served there until 1970 when he was elected to the Massachusetts Senate where he presided as President from 1978 to 1996. He assumed the presidency of the University of Massachusetts in 1996 and held this position until 2003. He is the author of the best selling political memoir While the Music Lasts, My Life in Politics.
