Orange Prize for Fiction, United Kingdom (U.K.)

The Orange Prize for Fiction is an annual award which celebrates 'novels of excellence' written by a woman writing in English, and published in Britain between April 1st and March 31st of the year the prize is awarded.

Each winner receives £30,000 (approx US$55,00) - the largest literary award in the UK - and a bronze figurine named 'Bessie'. The Orange Award is anonymously endowed.
