Translated from the Czech by Iris Urwin. The story of a frisky little horse whose antics cause himself and his old owner to be banished from their town. They find a home at last in an enchanted island refuge with a group of children. Awarded the Caorle Prize in 1968 at the International Children's Book Fair in Italy. The author won the 1980 Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his body of work. Near Fine in slightly darkened dustjacket.
