2.   Walworth, Arthur.   BLACK SHIPS OFF JAPAN: THE STORY OF THE OPENING UP OF JAPAN BY COMMODORE PERRY IN 1853.   Publisher: Archon Books, 1966. Hardcover. Very Good, Dust Jacket Very Good. Black cloth-covered boards, 277 pages + index and map. Book is ex-library, with tape marks on the cover, discard stamps on end papers, library stamp on the title page and top of textblock, and a pocket and library markings on the back end paper; light mildew odor; cover is bright, binding is tight, and pages are clean. Jacket shows a little fading on the spine with a browned label space near the heel; colors front and back are bright; protected in a mylar cover.
