Compiled by The Freer Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., produced by Kodansha Ltd., Tokyo, no date, each volume is 184 pages with red endpapers, prefaces at front and lists of plates at back of both books, each volume profusely illustrated with a large section of color and b&w full-page plates followed by “Explanation of Plates” sections, there is a map as well as some line drawings in Vol. I as well, books are 10-5/8 in. x 14-1/2 in., hardcovers, white leather with gilt titles and decorations, a few corners and spine ends mildly bumped, dustjackets show minor bumping and wear to corners and spine ends as well as a little very faint scuffing, Vol. II’s jacket shows light dampstain and ripple as well as wrinkling to mylar coating on rear panel (seems unrelated to damp, possibly from bindery this way?), slipcases show bumping and wear and chipping to corners and edges and spine ends as well as some very slight soil, Vol. II’s case has one very small piece of clear tape on a bottom corner, ink checkmark on top inner corner of both front free endpapers, page edges faintly age toned, previous owner’s ink name on front free endpaper of Vol. II, otherwise contents clean and tight, pamphlet about The Freer in laid into Vol. II, set protected in new clear plastic sleeve, Books: Near Fine, DJs: Very Good (V.I) & Good (V.II), Slipcases: Good {This set is oversized and may require extra postage, depending upon destination and shipping speed.} (NF/VG&G/G) 4685 [2Hss1114RV]
