Thank you for your interest in joining TomFolio.com
There are actually two ways you can join:

You can become a shareholder in the cooperative
by purchasing share of stock in ABookCoOp, Inc. for a one-lump
payment of $500 or on a payment plan
of $50 per month for ten consecutive months. Shareholders
are the sole owners of the site and elect the
managing Board of Directors from amongst themselves. At the present
time shareholders pay the same monthly listing fee paid by
all listers.

You may participate as a non-owner listing dealer by paying monthly listing fees ONLY.
These fees are based on the actual number of active item listings you
have in the billed month. These fees are currently the same for owners and non-owners.

What else is required?
Upon applying, your
application including your terms of service will be reviewed by the board
of directors of TomFolio.com. Dealers whose terms appear to be in conflict
with the Code of Ethics will be contacted for further information on a
case-by-case basis.
Applicants are required to read and agree to the ABookCoOp, Inc. Code of Ethics.
The Code of Ethics covers commonsense requirements that go toward assuring
our customers that they can buy from any of our dealers without worry. You
will be asked to agree to the following:

Satisfaction Guaranteed. All applicants are required to show that
they have a fair return policy including full compensation for misdescribed
material.

Shipping Insurance. If you charge a fee for insurance, this should
be made optional, only at the discretion of the customer, and only with
their prior approval.

Credit Card Acceptance. You agree to accept shopping cart orders
including payment by Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Note: You will
have the choice on each order of processing the card yourself (preferred)
or having TomFolio process it for you.

Other requirements. All applicants will be required to sign the
Application Agreement. Applicants for Ownership will also be required to
sign disclosure and non-disclosure agreements.
What database software can TomFolio.com upload?
TomFolio.com can accept any file in standard UIEE or tab or tilde-delimited
format. We have members who will answer questions about uploading from
various programs. Our site administrator will help with any problems that
members can't answer. MAC and PC files are both accepted. Uploads can be
made via ftp (preferred) using Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer. If

Note: Books, Periodicals, Ephemera and some media can be added to our
database using an upload file that you send to us. For our Antiques, Collectibles and Other Items
section, your items are added to our
database one-item-at-a-time with an easy to use tool in our Member Inventory Manager section.
What other features does TomFolio.com offer?

Credit Card Service: We provide a credit card system that allows you to
accept major credit card payments, even if you do not carry a credit card
merchant account of your own. There is a fee for this use to cover discounts and
accounting charges (currently 8% with a minimum fee of $.40 and a maximun of $30). Use of this system is optional. You're
welcome to use your own credit card merchant account if you wish.

Images: TomFolio.com supports an image URL that you include on your database, or images
hosted on our ftp server.

Category System: Our Category system is a unique browse feature. Dealers use
it by entering subcategory terms in their listings. Our members or our site
administrator will help you in designating the field you use for this
optional feature depending upon the software you are using. You must inform
the site administrator as to which field you are designating for
subcategories.

Dealer Page: You will be given a dealer page once you have entered your
information on the site. You can then use our easy Category Management tool
to add categories and subcategories to your dealer page. This allows you to
feature your specialties and outstanding merchandise. You can also quickly
create a catalog on-line for a customer requesting material on a certain
topic.

Personal Website with Your Own Domain Name: In addition to your
automatically-generated dealer page you can opt for your very own website.
The only difference between the two is that your personal site has no
clickable links to other TomFolio pages. Your personal site shows everything
you have set up on your dealer page (categories, specialties, logo, etc)
and includes use of the TomFolio shopping cart and credit card system. There are several design
templates and color choices available.

Featured Material: The Category system also allows us to spotlight material
that gets lost on ordinary sites. TomFolio.com features not only books of all
kinds, but also Ephemera, Magazines, Periodicals, Photographs, and other
related material. We expect to draw from a broader range of the collecting
community, institutions and archives, libraries, and researchers than
ordinary book sites.

Our Code of Ethics, which all members are required to agree to and sign,
assures high quality business standards and customer service from all of our
member dealers.
